Hey, everyone! I am Lucas. I'm 21 years old and I am from Monte Alto. Like many of you, I have a full time job. I also work
part time for a warehouse as a bookkeeper. My life is very busy and it's hard sometimes to make time for myself. I manage,
though.
I work at the Valley AIDS Council in McAllen. I am a Risk Reduction Specialist with the agency. This means
that I conduct out-reach, presentations, counseling sessions, and provide STD and HIV testing.
Right now my life is
my job. I know it sucks, but I have to get by. I am sure many of you understand what I mean. I'm just glad to be here.
Personally,
I love art. I love that art can mean so many different things to so many different people. It has to power to transcend through
generations and offers us a glimpse of the past. It is really hard to imagine in my mind a world without art. I would compare
that world to one where breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks was always tasteless and colorless paste. Just completely boring,
plane, and common.

When I have time I write. I really use writing to clear my head and to relax. If I really want to escape I draw.
